general guidelines and tips

storage tipsMatcha should be stored in an air-tight, opaque canister and kept away from light and any strong aromas. Never store this tea near spices or near anything with a strong smell. It should also be kept away from heat.
good vs badFresh Matcha should be a vibrant green. If it has a dull or darker appearance it has been kept too long and will not retain its full flavor. At peak flavor, matcha only lasts about 2-3 months.
why buy organic matcha green tea?Perfect for making matcha lattes or for coffee shops, tea shops and bakeries. Can also be used as a food manufacturing ingredient or for dietary supplements.

blend profile

for matcha green tea

water temp175° (not boiling)
timeBecause this tea is shaken or whisked to incorporate, it takes less than a minute to incorporate.
amountUse about 1 teaspoon for about ¼ cup of water. Sift the powder into a bowl and add water. Use a bamboo whisk to incorporate into a frothy brew or add sifted powder and water to a mason jar and shake.
infusion method A bamboo whisk is perfect to create a frothy cup of matcha but you can also add the powder to a mason jar and shake to blend, or blend with a frothing wand or a small kitchen whisk. You can top this with frothed milk to create a latte.

For cocktails, baking, and cooking you can prepare as a above, or simply add anywhere from ¼ teaspoon to more matcha directly into your recipe.
notes on tea strength Matcha is a strong, concentrated cup of tea because the entire leaf is ground into a powder and whisked into a tea. You can dilute with milk for a latte and also add sweetener to taste.
