lavender brownies
½ cup butter (not margarine)
⅓ cup lavender-vanilla syrup (click through for recipe)
1 cup chocolate chips
2 eggs
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ tablespoons dried lavender flowers
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. While the oven heats up, grease and flour a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Gently heat the butter and syrup in a saucepan and stir to blend together, then stir in chocolate chips until melted.
- Transfer the chocolate mixture to a large bowl. Add eggs and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, flour, cocoa, salt and lavender flowers and mix well.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely, then cut into squares.
