Witch hazel extract is produced from the aerial portions of one of four North American species of shrubs in the Hamamelis genus, most commonly H. virginiana. It is readily available online, in pharmacies and in some supermarkets. It’s the perfect vehicle for the essential oils in this formula that target odor-causing bacteria in the air.
½ cup distilled or filtered water ½ cup witch hazel extract 10 drops sweet orange essential oil 10 drops lemon essential oil
Combine all ingredients in a bow l or measuring cup. Using a funnel, pour formula into glass bottles with mister caps. Shake gently before misting the air. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
