aloe and mint muscle rub recipe
This non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and helps to ease painful joints and overworked muscles. Be sure to use 100% aloe gel as some aloe products contain unwanted fillers. Beeswax is available in blocks and as pellets (pastilles) in craft stores and in natural health stores
1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon grated beeswax
½ cup sweet almond oil
1 cup pure aloe vera gel
1 capsule vitamin E, pierced
6 drops peppermint essential oil
3 drops ginger essential oil
Combine the beeswax and sweet almond oil in the top of a double boiler and gently heat until the wax is completely melted. Remove from heat and pour into a blender. Let the mixture cool just until the edges begin to harden. Blend on low for a few seconds, then slowly add the aloe vera gel, vitamin E and essential oils. Blend until all of the ingredients are well combined. Store in clean glass jars with lids.
Use within 6 months.
