Carrot seed can be found throughout Europe. The Wild Carrot has hairy stems and odourless leaves and produces flat umbels of tiny white flowers. These die back, leaving a head of pungent seed, which have been used for hundreds of years as a digestive tonic.  The essential oil from seeds is earthy and subtle, with some woody notes. Carrot seed essential oil has been known to create an inner sense of peace.
