stone root

Stone root is obtained from the rootstock of Collinsonia canadensis, a flowering member of the mint family distributed throughout the woodlands of eastern North America. While the leaves and flowers of the plant have historically been used to make teas and various body care products, the root is associated with improving circulation.

Powdered stone root is typically tinctured or infused in oil for topical use. The root contains saponins, tannins, resins and mucilage, as well as antioxidant compounds.
