As the name implies, coral calcium is a form of calcium obtained from coral colonies or, more specifically, from coral sand deposits once part of coral reef found in nearby shallow water or coastline. Health experts agree that it is best to get calcium from dietary sources, such as milk, cheese, yogurt and dark, leafy greens. However, this is not always possible for those with dietary restrictions or medical conditions that affect calcium tolerance and absorption. For these people, coral calcium may be a suitable alternative.
