Rosa rubiginosa is a species of rose commonly known as Sweet Briar and is native to the southern Andes. The oil is produced from the seed of the fruit or “hip” of the plant. The seed contains up to 77% fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acids. It is also abundant om vitamin C and retinol (vitamin A).
